Blue Turtle Crossing is a non-profit e-zine dedicated to showcasing talented poets and artists.
Projected publication dates are February, June and October of each year.
As editor, my goal is to shine the spotlight on both new and experienced poets and give them an opportunity
to have their work shown to the world! This website is does not generate any income.
Therefore, no monetary compensation is available in exchange for the contribution of your poems.
However, being published on-line will provide authors with publication credits, a sense of accomplishment
and the ability to network with other authors and hopefully publishers!
Submissions from new and established poets are welcome and encouraged. I typically begin accepting submissions
two months prior to the e-zine's publication date. Check the website's NEWS page periodically to see if
submissions are currently being taken. If you would like to contact me or contribute to an upcoming issue of
Blue Turtle Crossing, send three to five poems to me for consideration,
pasted in the body of an e-mail, not via attachment. Please reference
"Submission" or a similar title in the subject box of your
e-mail and send the poems in the body of your e-mail.
ANY SUBMISSIONS WITH ATTACHMENTS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DELETED!!
NEW IN THE JUNE ISSUE: There will no longer be a featured poet per se, because it is so difficult
to choose one poet above all the other talented ones. I like to include as much information as possible
on each poet so that you can learn about them, visit their websites, and sample their books or videos.
Also, response has been so great that Blue Turtle MUST limit the number of participating poets for future
issues. Approximately the 15 best poetry submissions will be chosen for each issue. Be patient with regard
to notification. The choices will be made approximately one week after submissions close, and you will be
notified by e-mail as to whether your poetry has been accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
Plagiarism will not be tolerated. You must certify that the poems submitted are your
original works. Previously published or simultaneous submission poetry is acceptable,
provided the artist maintains rights to the poems. If you do submit previously published
poetry, please provide the year and the name of the publication that published the poem,
so that proper credit may be given. Author retains all rights to poetry published on this
e-zine.
No offensive, pornographic, discriminatory, erotica, violent or explicit material or language will be
considered for publication. Please remember that this website is for viewers of all ages. Only appropriate
material will be considered for publication. The editorial board reserves the right to reject
material deemed offensive or unsuitable for this publication. Please allow several weeks for review of
submissions and response.
Send your poetry to me at the following e-mail address:
editor@blueturtlecrossing.com
If you have submitted to me before, please note that the e-mail address for this
e-zine has changed. Please do not send your initial submissions to my personal e-mail address.
You may receive future contact from me at my personal address.
Thank you in advance for your participation in this e-zine. It is the work of fine poets like you that
continue to make this website a success. I look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
Colleen M. Breuning, Editor
Blue Turtle Crossing
